Loud and Clear QLD is a self-advocacy group where people with intellectual disability across Queensland come together to speak up, share ideas, and lead meaningful change in their communities. Members of all ages meet regularly in Central Queensland (Gladstone), Fraser Coast,  and on the Sunshine Coast, building skills, confidence, and connection along the way.

Now in its 11th year, Loud and Clear QLD has built a genuine track record of authentic self-advocacy leadership, with many original members from 2015 still actively involved today. The group is proudly supported by P2P through an Information, Linkage and Capacity Building grant, and a Loud and Clear QLD member represents Queensland on Our Voice, an official committee of the Inclusion Australia Board that ensures the voices of people with intellectual disability inform decisions at a national level.

Loud and Clear Qld is not advocacy from the sidelines; it’s advocacy in action. Members have contributed to major initiatives, including the Disability Royal Commission, the Having a Say Conference, National Disability Services’ Staying Safe Forums, the NDIS Review, and the Sunshine Coast Council’s Action and Inclusion Coordination Meetings, Inclusion Action Plan and All-Access Day at the Beach.

Every member has a role to play. Whether it’s speaking at presentations, creating easy read documents, supporting fellow members, or helping run meetings and events, Loud and Clear QLD is built on the idea that everyone has something valuable to contribute — from public speaking to quiet, steady support behind the scenes.
