Parent to Parent supports people with intellectual disabilities to speak up, be heard, and make informed decisions about their lives. We offer two services: individual advocacy support through our free monthly advocacy clinic on the Sunshine Coast, and self-advocacy through Loud and Clear Qld, where people with intellectual disabilities lead the way.
Free Advocacy Clinic: Sunshine Coast
Parent to Parent provides a free advocacy clinic with Miia Tolvanen from People with Disability Australia. Miia is an Individual Advocate based on the Sunshine Coast offering one-hour advice sessions either in person at our Woombye office or via phone.
What Miia can help with:
- Guardianship and administration matters
- Seeking an external review of your NDIS plan through the Administrative Review Tribunal (ART)
- Supported decision making
- Making a complaint about NDIS services or other services
- Child protection related issues
Important information:
- Miia cannot provide legal advice or support
- Sessions are for advice only (not ongoing advocacy)
- Follow-up sessions can be booked if needed
- In some cases, Miia may be able to take on individual advocacy when capacity allows (short-term, issue-focused support)
- There is no cost
- Basic information will be recorded for auditing and funding purposes (name, DOB, postcode, gender, ATSI status, citizenship status, disability details)
Bookings are required. To make an appointment, please fill out the form below.

Loud and Clear Qld: Self-Advocacy
Established in 2015, Loud and Clear Qld is Queensland’s leading self-advocacy group for people with intellectual disability. We speak up, lead change, and make our voices heard.
Our members are self-advocate leaders and representatives who champion rights, voices, and choices of all people with intellectual disability.
Every October, Loud and Clear Qld designs and delivers Queensland’s only all-abilities conference and concert, created by people with intellectual disability, for people of all abilities.
